Now we come to the fourth and final book of “Zero’s Journey” based on the worlds and characters from the hit Tim Burton movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Jack Skellington and his pals have arrived in Christmas Town having unknown what has happened during the events of the previous book. Meanwhile, a fire breaks out at Santa’s Workshop with Zero stuck in the middle of all the commotion. Zero tries to help all the elf and reindeer out of the burning building while at the same time trying to find a way to stop the fire before the whole place comes down. At the same time, Lock Shock and Barrel try to get away with stealing as much of the toys as possible.
To sum it all up, this last and final chapter brings the whole adventure of Zero’s Journey to an endearing and satisfying conclusion. The story goes big both in its narrative and its visuals. there is a lot of places the story goes and every character’s purpose to the story gets resolved nicely. It’s just the sort of conclusion you would like to see Zero get and even though there is room for improvement the ending still works in the grand scheme of Zero’s Journey.
The final book is about on par with books 1 and 3 of the series. It doesn’t quite go beyond being your average adventure but it works in the vein of being an extension of The Nightmare Before Christmas and it nicely concludes the Zero’s Journey saga. I had fun reading Zero’s adventure and it’s a series I would recommend to any Tim Burton fan.
