Because Disney still can’t get enough of Frozen, they decided to make a 12 minute short on Disney Plus showing off the origins of the series’s breakout character Olaf. Now I will say that I legitmenty enjoy the first movie and even though I'm not a huge fan of the second movie I do understand why other people may enjoy it and it was still a success so who am I to complain? However, will this short capture what made me enjoy Frozen to begin with or will it leave me in the cold like its sequel?

There really is nothing much I can say for the story except that it’s basically Olaf’s origins after he was built literally while Elsa was singing “Let It Go” and what follows is joke after joke and references to the events in Frozen before he catches up with Anna and Kristof. You’d think that would be too redundant and forced but actually, it surprisingly manages to keep the spirit and tone of the original movie while at the same time showing us the beginnings of Olaf’s thought process in a very entertaining way that makes sense and serves as a perfect add on for Frozen fans. Heck, I’ll even say that this short succeeds where Frozen II failed.

Overall this is a fun little short that is great for Frozen fans. If your like me and thought that Frozen II was a bit underwhelming, this is sure to give you the joyful feelings you’ve been missing cause this is Olaf we are talking about and he definitely likes warm hugs.
